Singaporean Television Coverage of the Speech

On July 14, 2010, Digital Deliverance Managing Partner Vin Crosbie was invited by the Singapore Press Holdings Foundation to give its third annual Media in Transition lecture at the National Library of Singapore. The Singapore Press Holdings Foundation, incorporated as the Press Foundation of Singapore on January 29, 2003, is a registered charity, primarily funded by Singapore Press Holdings, a media organisation with print, television, radio, outdoor media, and Internet and new media businesses, and  a team of roughly 1,000 journalists.

More than 400 guests, including media professionals, lecturers and students, attended the lecture in the National Library’s Drama Centre by Professor Crosbie, entitled The Greatest Change in the History of MediaAmong the audience were Dr Tan Chin Nam, Chairman of the Media Development Authority; Dr. N. Varaprasad, Chief Executive of National Library Board; and Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC.

In opening remarks, Dr. Tony Tan, Chairman of SPH and the SPH Foundation, said:”At SPH, the traditional print media remains our core business, but we also aim to be a leading new-media player by committing $150 million in the online and mobile space. We have to learn to embrace new media and synergise it with the existing traditional media. They each have their place in the media landscape of tomorrow.”
